Foundations of Faith
The path to Christ. The power of the cross. The foundations that last.
Salvation is the greatest gift ever offered — the restoration of relationship between God and humanity through Jesus Christ. There is one God, and He has revealed Himself to us in His Son. 'For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form' (Colossians 2:9). Jesus is not one person among three — He is the one true God manifested in flesh.
The Bible tells us, 'For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast' (Ephesians 2:8-9). Salvation cannot be earned. It is received. It is the finished work of Christ on the cross, applied to your life through faith, repentance, baptism in His name, and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Salvation is not just about where you spend eternity — it is about who you become right now. You are a new creation. You are filled with the Spirit of God. You are part of a family that stretches across the globe and across history. This is the foundation everything else is built upon.
Salvation is a comprehensive word in Scripture. It means deliverance from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and ultimately the presence of sin. On the day of Pentecost, when the people asked, 'What shall we do?' the apostle Peter gave a clear answer: 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit' (Acts 2:38). This is the apostolic plan of salvation.
When you place your faith in Jesus Christ, repent of your sins, are baptized by immersion in His name, and receive the Holy Spirit, you are forgiven, born again, and raised to new life. The Spirit of God takes up residence in your spirit, and you become a temple of the living God. This is not a metaphor — it is a spiritual reality.
"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"
— Acts 2:38
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
Salvation is not the end of the journey — it is the beginning. After you are saved, God fills you with the Holy Spirit — not as a separate person, but as the Spirit of the one true God dwelling within you. The same God who was Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit in the church now lives inside you. 'Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh' (1 Timothy 3:16).
The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts for the building up of the church. He produces fruit in your life — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He guides you into truth, intercedes for you in prayer, and equips you for every good work.
Every building needs a solid foundation. Jesus compared the wise man who built his house on the rock to the one who hears His words and puts them into practice. The Christian life is built on foundational truths: the oneness of God, the authority of Scripture, the lordship of Christ, the power of the cross, the infilling of the Spirit, and the hope of eternity.
This hub brings together the foundational teachings of the apostolic faith. Whether you are new to faith or have walked with God for decades, these resources will help you go deeper, stand firmer, and grow stronger in your relationship with Jesus Christ.
