What Comes After “Except”

Today's Scripture

Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of

olive oil.”

2 Kings 4:2, NIV

in 2 Kings 4 it was so bad for a poor widow that the creditors came to take their two sons as payment for their bills. When he said he had nothing in his house, he did not realize that he already had the miracle. The principle is: Your talent and resources may not seem sufficient to you, but if you use what you have, God will multiply it.

Note that he says he has nothing "except" a small pot of oil. God will use what comes after "out." "I have nothing but this little talent and little training. I have nothing but a few connections. "God will take what you think is unimportant and make it unique. When you come to the end of what you can do when you have no resources and no opportunities, you are in the perfect position to be God in your life." God is about to do something unusual, something that cannot happen.

“Father, thank You for the gifts, talents and resources that You have already given me. Thank You that You can take what seems like not enough and make it flow into abundance. I believe that You are going to multiply what I have and show out in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
