Today's Scripture
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
Acts 16:25, NIV
Who Is with You?
in Acts 16, Paul and Silas had been beaten and put in jail for sharing the good news. The opposition had stirred up trouble, and things were out of their control. They had all kinds of questions to which they had no answers. Would they have a fair trial…or be held there…or put to death? They could have been upset, worried, and losing sleep, but at midnight they were singing praises to God. Their attitude was, "We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that God is in control. He who is for us is more than the world against us." There was a strong earthquake and the chains fell.
It's as powerful as you can say, "I don't know what will happen in this situation, but God is on the throne, fighting my battles, His plans with me are good and what he started with me. He lives. Finish." it is a time when the Creator of the universe causes dreams that seem impossible.
"Father, I thank You that You, the Almighty Creator of the universe, are with me as you have been with Paul and Silas. In difficult times, when I do not know what will happen in the situation, help me to sacrifice You." praise. I trust you will make your plan with me. In the name of Jesus, Amen. "
